Diabetes, not DUI!

Unfortunately, if you suffer from diabetes, you may very well look and act like a drunk driver to a Newton County law enforcement officer.  More than likely the officer will administer some  field sobriety tests and a roadside breath test.  Low levels of blood glucose, or hypoglycemia has symptoms that closely resemble DUI and lead to unjust DUI arrests in Newton County and throughout the state of Georgia.

What is especially troubling is that breathalyzer tests, of which the results are the primary source of evidence for many Newton County prosecutors, cannot differentiate between the breath of someone with hypoglycemia and the breath of someone who is drunk.  The chemical components are not distinguishable to such devices.

If you are diabetic or hypoglycemic, call Newton County DUI attorney Richard Lawson today to discuss your case.  These charges are often dismissed or reduced to less serious traffic offenses.  If you have any type of medical condition, it may make a difference in your DUI case and should be discussed with an experienced DUI attorney at the first possible opportunity.  Protect your rights and your license.  Call Mr. Lawson today.
