Clayton County DUI Expungement Information

Every year, thousands of people are charged with DUI in Clayton County.  Many of those drivers are convicted of those  DUI offenses by entering a guilty plea.  Then, sometimes years later, they contact a lawyers office in an attempt to get the conviction expunged from their record.  Perhaps they got the DUI conviction when they were in their early 20s and later on in their life their job situation changed and having that conviction hurts their chances of advancing in their career.  Unfortunately, a DUI conviction cannot be expunged from a persons' record.  Expunged means removed or deleted.  That conviction remains there in most every case if the plea was knowingly entered.  Time does not make it go away.

Clayton County DUIs carry harsh penalties in addition to being a permanent part of your criminal record.  That is why it is essential that an experienced DUI lawyer be consulted as soon as possible following a DUI arrest.  DUI cases can be challenged and won.  No one has to plead guilty!  If you have been charged with a DUI in Clayton County, call lawyer Richard Lawson to discuss the facts of your case.
